Damien Hirst is a central figure in international contemporary art and one of the leading members of the YBA (Young British Artists) group. Born in Bristol and trained in London, he shook up the art system starting in the 1990s with provocative works that bring science, religion, beauty and death into dialogue. In Forever, Hirst spreads across the surface a series of dense, raised layers of colour, with a strong tactile and visual impact. Every stain, every layering, seems to emerge like a viscous flower, a biological matter in transformation. With Fruitful, Hirst returns to the same material and gestural vocabulary as Forever, but here the explosion of colour becomes more intense, charged with a primal, playful energy. The title - "fruitful" - fits the image perfectly: a garden of pigments in full bloom, an abstract landscape where every touch seems to generate new impulses.
