THE HISTORY

Cervino 28 was born from a transformation. Where the works now live, there was once an empty, dirty and abandoned industrial space: bare rooms, blackened surfaces, the raw legacy of an industrial past.

Turin was not a random choice. A city of creative energy and a dynamic cultural fabric, home to internationally renowned events such as Artissima and Contemporary Art Week, it is recognised as one of Europe’s capitals of contemporary art.

In search of the right place, Stefano Rastrelli looked across Italy, until he found the perfect setting at Via Cervino 28: a former industrial building, raw but full of potential.

The renovation - complex and demanding, lasting almost three years and led by a renowned architecture studio - transformed the building while preserving its original features. Concrete, iron and glass coexist with the works: the industrial memory of the place becomes the backdrop for the contemporary.

The result is an environment where the past of the place and the works coexist. The story of Cervino 28 is the story of this transformation: a vision turned into architecture.
