Tomás Saraceno

A visionary, multidisciplinary artist, Tomás Saraceno brings together art, science and ecological commitment in a poetic, experimental language. After training in architecture, he developed a body of work ranging from suspended sculpture to bioart, from cosmology to collaboration with real spiders. His installations defy gravity and categorisation, proposing a new way of inhabiting the world and rethinking the relationships between living beings, matter and space.
Saraceno is renowned for his suspended ecosystems and for structures inspired by the geometries of crystals, spiderwebs and clouds. He exhibits in the world's leading museums and biennials (Tate Modern, the Venice Biennale, Palais de Tokyo), pursuing research that weaves together sculpture, engineering, biology and sustainability.

This sculptural work by Tomás Saraceno, made in 2022, takes the form of a light, intricate geometric structure, made up of reflective surfaces and a web of black threads stretched through space. The polyhedral volumes seem to float like floating architectures or fragments of a living organism.
Reflections and shadows engage in dialogue with the surrounding environment, while the fine mesh of threads recalls spiderwebs - one of the artist's recurring motifs - a symbol of connection, fragility and interdependence. The work invites us to think in terms of an ecology of relationships, to observe reality as a set of interconnected systems. An object suspended between science and poetry, between the visible and the invisible.
